Patapum babywearing
My friend Jane has one of these and its what I’ve been looking for. Kind of like a pack with all the padding but to carry a baby close to you.
Check out Patapum
Jane was able to scamble down to our local swimming hole with Beth still asleep. Beth is a little over 2 years old.

Slingy
In my posts the other day I was talking about The World of Slingy.
So here is a photo….thank you Morten.
There are some great video’s to show you how to use the sling as well as good written instructions. Visit www.slingy.dk
Why use a sling? Freedom! Well that’s one of my answers. I get to go anywhere (well almost) with Ara. I’ve been to visit waterfalls clambering over rocks to get there, trek into the bush/forest all places that pushchairs will not go. Also I find a sling better than a backpack as you can move bub around depending on what you are doing. I do feed Ara sometimes…she does go piggy back now she’s older and this is all in the sling.

The World of Slingy
I am still “Baby-wearing” Ara at 19months old. How heavy is she…I don’t know but it does not matter as I still see some parents picking up their 3 or 4 year olds so I guess we’ll just keep “Baby-wearing” till she doesn’t want to…which is becoming more and more often.
I think I might of found the ultimate sling. I’ve mucked around for ages with wraps and other stuff they are all great but I keep coming back to the sling we first started off with. This has held Ara from birth till now…true we can’t do things like mow the lawn with her but that’s where the wrap comes in.
This Sling has it though. I’ve been wanting a bigger area to go over my shoulder and the ability to pull Ara in a little closer which I can’t do on my sling.
So have a look at this Web site….www.slingy.dk

Hot Slings
Yes you can be hip and carry your baby too
“….Hotslings pouches are an innovative design that combine fashion with function. Just because you are a mom (or dad) now doesn’t mean you will be stuck with bears, bunnies, blue plaid and pink gingham. Nor will you be stuck with a front pack that only is good for your baby’s first few months while it pulls mercilessly on your upper back….”

kangaroo korner
“….A baby is unable to discharge its own energy when it is laying on its back looking at the ceiling or the inside of a stroller bonnet. When carried in a sling, the baby shares in your walking, talking, working, laughing, playing and is able to discharge that energy in the most pleasurable way….”
Ara I feel has also learnt a lot by sitting in the sling with me. I Love this site its sad that you can’t really find it just by typing in babywearing or what ever you really need a link.

Babies Love to be Held
“…..Take a look at all the baby gadgets parents have to choose from, and it soon becomes clear that many parents think babies should spend a good deal of time anywhere but in their parent’s arms…..”
