Oh I know…
I love my parents and in some ways I understand their thinking. Now, I’m left empty at times. My borderline personality disorder and dissociative identity disorder stems from the way I was raised in many ways. Oh, how I would’ve loved to hear the words I love you and had them when I needed them.

This is so true. I hope that more research will be done on the affects of CIO on adults. Broken babies do indeed become broken adults.
As someone who was left to CIO as an infant and a toddler I can tell you is that it’s taken quite some time to overcome the affects but it IS possible to overcome the affects and get back to a normal life.
